Where does electricity come from?

Posted on February 1st, 2012, by Brenda Walsh

Most people have no idea where their electricity comes from. The scary thing is – almost 94% of consumed energy in the United States comes from NON-RENEWABLE resources! That means the vast majority of our electricity is being generated from sources that will eventually run out. Wow.

Why don’t we use more renewable energy sources, like the sun and wind? Solar and wind generators are the safest, easiest, and without-a-doubt cheapest way to generate electricity for our homes. Yet, only 0.2% of the USA energy comes from these renewable sources.
